Jackson Sometimes we are privileged to be at a musical event that is beyond the norm, that captures a special moment and thrill beyond the expectations.
Such was the preview party for Rockabilly Fest 2000.

Expected to be a nice opening with a little music, the event got past the speeches and took on new life when the music jam began. Dave Crimmen and Gary Sax ventured over to the music corner and began a set that before the evening ended had brought applause and driven performances from a variety of artists. |
As with the jam sessions that work this one was fun. The performers were working because they wanted to, and it showed. Narvel hit the notes. Finlands Red Hots and Missouris Crossfire got to perform in the same room with music legends. And Stan Perkins, a shy guy in such circumstances, took command, along with his dads band and W. S. Holland, the father of rockabilly drummers, of an audience thrilled to see him perform.
